From hand-written family records: "Christopher Columbus Ethridge was born June 13th 1851".
Christopher Columbus was sometimes called 'Lum'. He also used the initials C. C. After Elizabeth died in 1884, Christopher remarried in Missouri in 1885, to Sarah Vanzandt. They likely knew each from childhood. Sarah had not been married before. Christopher and Sarah lived in Missouri and Kansas and had three children. The obituary of their son John Luther said he was born in Mayflower, Barry County in 1892. In 1905, they lived in Kansas and owned their home with no mortgage. They have not been located on the 1910 census, but were likely in Kansas, as Sarah died in 1911 in Kansas. Christopher moved to Arkansas and married again to another Sarah (Youngblood) a few months after Sarah (Vanzandt) Ethridge died. In 1920, Christopher and his wife, Sarah (Youngblood) lived in Boone County, Arkansas, and he farmed. According to his descendants, he died from a broken neck, after he fell while climbing over a fence. Christopher Columbus was part Cherokee Indian according to family lore passed down to his descendants. From hand-written Ethridge-Enders family records: "Christopher Columbus Ethridge departed this life Sept. 8, 1933. Age of 82 years".
