Biography

Anthonius was born after 1625. Anthonius Eulenberger ... He passed away about 1694. [1]

NOTE: In all the documents he signed, he used the nickname: Thoenges. It was not his middle name, but that was the only way I could get his info recorded without having Wikitree change his first name from Anthonius to Thoenges. I had tried putting it in parentheses, but that just seem to create a new profile for a different name!!

It was suggested by a church archivist that he may have come from the village of Eulenberg, which lay in the path of the marauding Swedish troops sweeping through the area, abducting recruits.

He was a farmer and also a church official (Kirchgeschworener) who oversaw monies lent out by the Evangelisch church in Schoeneberg, about a kilometer, or 1 1/2 hour walk from Seifen, over a small mountain and through the forest.

Both his sons, Andreas & Wilhelm were christened and married in the church in Schoeneberg

Church records were very spotty, so we only know that he last signed a church document in 1693 and his son Wilhelm was listed as fatherless at his marriage in 1706.

No records exist re. a wife in Seifen. Could she have died before the move to Seifen? Was it pestilence?

No more info is currently available for Anthonius Eulenberger. Can you add to his biography?

Briefly, info was gotten from the church records of the Schoeneberg Evangelische Kirche (Evangelich/Luthern) kept by archivist near Heidelberg. Sorry to have forgotten name of town which I visited over 15 years ago to get all the information concerning the three generations of Eulenbergers living in Seifen. Now,

Addendum: in August of 2013, relooking at my research, I find Koblenz to be the city of the archives. Entered by Rob Howell, May 3, 2012
