Biography

Samuel Evans was born 2 Apr 1795 in Washington County, Tennessee, the son of Andrew Evans Sr. and Elizabeth Fain. On 1 Jan 1818, at age 22 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, he married Margery Modrell.[1] Together, they had nine children.[2]

Research Notes

  1. The documentation for Andrew Evans Sr at Indiana DAR supports date of birth and death of Samuel and name of wife.
  2. Leonard Maddox and William Finley are probably the same person. One person appears in the 1850 census under the name W F L M Evans.
