Henry Evans was born c.1842 in Franklin Parish, Louisiana to Josephus Evans and Artemesia Brooks, both from Mississippi.

Research Notes

Although, the tombstone is engraved with birth year 1842, records do not support this. His death certificate has birth year of 1854. Most census records have it anywhere between 1854 and 1857.
