Bethia (Evans) Aldrich was born about 1690 in Suffolk County, New York.

Bethia, of Southold, Suffolk, Province of New York, executed her will on 21 Feb 1760, in the presence of Daniel Aldrich, yeoman; Mary Aldrich, spinster; and Richard Howell, yeoman. To her granddaughter, Mary Corwin, she left 6 pounds to be paid at the age of 18 or marriage; the remainder of her estate was to be divided equally between her two daughters, Mehitable Terry and Jemima Benjamin. Her will was proved 26 Jun 1761.^[1]

"Jacob-3 Aldrich was the son of Peter-2, (George-1) Aldrich and Mehitable-3 (John-2, John-1) Swezey. He was survived by a widow named Bethiah, who may have been the mother of all of his children. (Some compilations give her a last name of Evans - but this writer has not been able to substantiate that name for her.) They had seven children who survived into adulthood (2 died young nameless): Gershom, Peter, Mehitable, Jacob, Daniel, Stephen and Jemima."

31. Mary 5 Saniforth (Thomas, #62) was born circa 1724 at prob Long Island. She married Jacob Aldrich (see #30), son of Jacob Aldrich and Bethiah Evans, on 7/1/1747 at Huntington, Southold, Suffolk, New York.19 She died on 7/6/1800. She was buried at Mattituck Presbyterian Cemetery."
