  • Mary Anne Malone, wife of "Woodley" Malone, is mentioned in the death records of her children.

Her maiden name is given as: Poly Ann EVANS-- in eldest son John William Malone's death record. Anne EVANS -- in daughter Mary E. Malone McComb's death record. Other supporting factors for surname Evans: Mary Anne Malone claimed her parents were born in South Carolina. If she was an Evans, this data matches, but if she was a Cambron there are conflicts. When Mary is widowed, she and her children live next door to her Evans parents on the 1800 census. Mary Anne Malone's son Bennet married late in life about the time his mother (age 70s) died. It is possible this was a marriage of convenience as she was his cousin, related through Mary's sister, Martha Evans Barnett. I have not been able to trace a source for the surname Cambron, nor have I found any proof yet that our Mary was Cambron. Surname CAMBRON may be incorrect information that has been passed around a long time. However, I did find one of Mary's sisters, Hester C Evans, had married a Camron.
