In 1851, his oldest brother John and his wife Jane Carlyon emigrated to New South Wales. In 1853 his mother Johanna died, and his father later remarried.
In 1858 - age 22 - Henry also emigrated to NSW [4]
On Monday a miner named Henry Evans fell down a pass in the mine, a distance of about 30ft and sustained injuries which caused his death the same night. His funeral was one of the largest ever seen in Cobar. Numbers of miners turned out to attend it. The deceased has left a large family.
