Biography

Mary Ann Evans was age 3 and resided at P.O. Mt Savage with her parents in Carter County, Kentucky in 1860. The family resided next door to Edward James, age 59, basketmaker who was the grandfather of Mary Ann Evans.[1]

Mary Ann married Stephen Large Clark 5 June 1872 in Carter County, Kentucky. The marriage was witnessed by William Evans and John Armes and performed by Henry Easterling. Justice of the Peace for Carter County.[2]

The 1880 census for Carter County, Kentucky showed the family included: Stephen Clark, age 35; Mary A. Clark age 23; Hattie Clark age 5 and Alice Clark age 2.[3]

In 1900 the Clark family resided in Carter County, Kentucky.[4]
