On Thursday evening, July 26th, after an illness of several weeks, Mrs. Myrtle Brewer, wife of J. B. Brewer, died at her home in Alto. Deceased had been a member of the Baptist Church a number of years. She was a noble woman, possessing many superior virtues. Her husband has lost a faithful wife, her children-----ader and indulgent mother---town and community-----eh a devoted member------ones hope, for the wife and mother and our friend , has gone to heaven to await your coming. Our Father called her to a higher and nobler work. She will never spend another sleepless night in pain, for in the home where her pure soul is there is no night, neither suffering or tears. Happy Myrtle! to be with God. While we can but mourn and deeply sympathize with those she called Husband, children, sisters and other loved ones, yet we should rejoice that Heaven is brighter, is nearer and dearer since she has gone to live among the angels. She has put on the "White Robe" and walks the golden streets in that "Land of pure delight". I hope that all who knew and loved her here may so live as to meet dear Myrtle in the home our Elder Brother said he would prepare for all who love and obey Him. We see thru a glass dimly here and wonder why one so young, so bright and lovely, was called home; yet we know God never makes a mistake, and that He loves those He calls to pass beneath the rod of bereavement. He alone can comfort and ---sus sin the---deeply stricken. Go to Him with your sad aching heart and remember it will not be long until we shall be called to lay down life earthly for life eternal, and if faithful, we will join our dear loved ones in the beautiful home "Over there", and with them gather around the "Great white throne" and sing praises unto Him who died that we through Him might have eternal life.
Myrtle was born in 1871. She passed away in 1901.
