Keith started work with the Lithgow Mercury in 1927, where he completed an apprenticeship as a printer in 1935. He then worked as a linotype operator with the National Advocate in Bathurst. Moving to Sydney he worked with the Land and Tribune papers.
After completing and Engineering Course he worked for Oldings Motors/Engineering Works in the early 1940's. By 1944 he and Margaret owned a mixed business in Camperdown. Later Keith spent time back in the printing trade in Lakemba, he then bought an ice delivery run. In the 1930's he was an amateur and professional bicycle rider and speed roller skater. He competed in such bike races as the 1936 McGowen Cup, the Bathurst/Orange return, the inaugural Bathurst to Lithgow Open in 1937, the Wynall Cup for several years and the Speedwell 60 Parramatta/Penrith return. He also rode regularly at the Surry Hills arena. In 1991 he began writing articles on events he remembered for the Lithgow Mercury under the title of "Oldtimer". He lived at Swansea and formerly Lithgow and was buried at Lithgow (Roman Catholic 2-5)
