Biography

William John Evans was born on 23 Dec 1890 in Molong, New South Wales, Australia, son of John Evans (1856–1920) and Louisa (Williams) Evans (abt. 1867–1955). [1]

William had an older brother, Theodore Leonard Evans (1889–1970).

William (25) married Hilda Hannah (Stanford) Evans (22) (born on 11 Sep 1893 in Molong) on 9 Feb 1916 in Molong. [2]

EVANS—STANFORD.
A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Molong, on Wednesday afternoon last, by the Rev. John Thomas, the contracting parties being Mr William John Evans, of Gumble, and Miss Hilda Hannah Stanford, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Stanford, of Meranburn.
As the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, the Choir sang the hymn, " The Voice that breathed o'er Eden," and after the ceremony, as the bridal party departed, Miss M. Packham, organist, played the " Wedding March."
The bride looked charming in white silk striped voile, pearl trimmings, with customary wreath and veil, and carried a shower bouquet with satin streamers. The bridesmaid, Miss Eleanor Eliza Stanford (sister of the bride), was neatly attired in pink voile, coatee effect, with hat to match, and carried a shower bouquet, with pink streamers. Mr Albert Fox filled the role of best man.
After the ceremony the bridal party, which was confined to the relatives of the young couple, adjourned to Mrs. A. Byrne's boarding house, where a nice little wedding tea was partaken of. The Rev. John Thomas proposed the health of the " Bride and Bridegroom," in a few felicitous words in his own characteristic style. The Bridegroom suitably responded, thanking the minister for his kind remarks and good advice.
The newly married couple left by the mail train for Orange, thence to Sydney, to spend the honeymoon. The bride travelled in a saxe blue costume. The wedding presents were numerous and useful.

They had at least two children
