Irene Evans Childers Lowi Brantley

Irene was born November 29, 1890 in Attalla, Alabama and was the daughter of William and Margaret Evans.[1] She grew up in Attalla with # siblings: ...[2]

Irene married Dozier Childers December 12, 1907 in Attalla, Alabama.[1] Irene and Dozier two daughters that died at birth, Margaret Jeanette in 1916 and another in 1919 .[3] They had a son, Dozier Jr., that died at birth.

In 1910, Irene and Dozier were living alone together and he was a salesman in a dry goods store.[4] In 1917, Dozier lists himself as unemployed and exempt from the draft due to his physical condition.[5] By 1920, Irene and Dozier were living with Dozier's parents and he was not working.[6]

Dozier died October 10, 1921 in Attalla, Alabama.[7] He was buried October 11 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Attalla.[8][9]

Irene married Dave Lowi February 22, 1926.[10] Dave died a year and a half later.[11]After Dave's death, Irene stayed for a time with her sister Cora.[12]

Irene married Samuel Christopher "Jack" Brantley in 1937. [11]

In 1935, Irene and Jack lived in Pinellas Country, Florida, where Jack was an auto salesman.[13] In 1940, they lived in North Miami where Jack was a jalousie installer.[14]

Irene and Jack got divorced in 1942 in Dade County, Florida.[15] This may have been to shelter wealth from Jack's original family.

Jack died December 8, 1955 and was buried in Dade Memorial Park, Opa-locka, Miami-Dade County, Florida.[16] Irene died on October 25, 1961 in Miami, Florida and was also buried in Dade Memorial Park.[1][17]
