Biography
John Evans is the father of David Evans. He passed away before 1764.
- "David Evans, son of John Evans deceased, certificate to Haddonfield 4-10-1764. He hath conducted in a good degree Orderly attended meetings Settled his outward affairs to satisfactionand is clear of marriage engagements as far as we know."[1]
Research Notes
Possible marriage to Sarah Jones, daughter of David Jones, 1746 at Radnor Monthly Meeting, Chester County, Pennsylvania[2] They appear to have had at least four children, including two Davids, one born 1751 and the other in 1755 (suggesting that the older one may have died?). David born in 1755 is too young to have married in 1767, though, so it's possible this is not the right John Evans to be the father of the David Evans who married Jane Brick and Mary Sheppard.
