Christian is very likely one of the unnamed daughters of Benjamin Bibb and his wife, Nancy, who's surname is unknown.[1] The fact that the name Christian, or variants thereof, was used by her brothers to name their daughters supports this theory.
Benjamin Bibb who was married to Nancy (née unknown) was, according to Charles Bibb above referenced, born in 1663 and died in 1720. It is highly unlikely they are the parents of Christian as their children were born in the late 1600s. Their son Benjamin #2 was born in 1686, and married Mary Arnett. In Charles Bibb's book, the births of their children occurred between 1743 and 1769, which seems unlikely given Benjamin's date of birth, even Mr. Bibb agrees that the children listed likely belong to another Benjamin Bibb. Either way, Christian had to have been born by 1720 in order to have married Champness Terry in/about 1743. So, this Benjamin Bibb is out as father of Christian as well. None of the Bibbs listed in this book gave their children the name Christian, Christiana or Christina. The following quote by Mr. Robert Cole was found on page 35:
"There is a nuncupative Will signed by Champness Terry wherein ..... [John] Bibb speaks of his eldest brother Benjamin Bibb."
John and Benjamin Bibb were sons of Henry Bibb who married Eleanor Fleming. Eleanor's father, William Fleming, wrote his will on 13 Sep 1742, in which he mentions, among others, his granddaughter "Christian Bibb."[2] Unfortunately, this Christain Bibb was born about 1736 and married 1) Joseph Woolfolk and 2) Samuel Brockman.
Marriage
