I was born in 2004 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. I am currently working at a public library and am part-way through a Diploma of Library and Information Services. I love all things library, information, cultural heritage, and GLAMR (galleries, libraries, archives, museums).
I've had an interest in history and genealogy for a while now, and started researching my ancestry in 2017 when I was 12 years old. Since then, I have made great strides in learning about my ancestors and how to record information about them.
I am gradually transferring my family tree (which primarily exists on FindMyPast, but I also have a smaller less frequently updated presence on FamilySearch and Geni) on to WikiTree. It's going to take me a while to get all the information transferred over, especially as I'd like to do it thoughtfully with well-written biographies (hopefully), and I keep finding mistakes that need to be fixed as I sift through everything. But I will get there! :)
As of December 2023, I have not been on WikiTree for a while, owing to getting a new job in the mid-year and being a bit busy settling in to that. So if you have tried to interact with me this year and not had a reponse, it is worth trying again now as I'm slowly getting back into the fold.
What I'm currently doing on WikiTree:
Acadian heritage connections: Oscar is 29 degrees from Beyoncé Knowles, 28 degrees from Jean Béliveau, 27 degrees from Madonna Ciccone, 28 degrees from Rhéal Cormier, 25 degrees from Joseph Drouin, 27 degrees from Jack Kerouac, 28 degrees from Anne Murray, 29 degrees from Matt LeBlanc, 27 degrees from Roméo LeBlanc, 26 degrees from Azilda Marchand, 25 degrees from Marie Travers and 28 degrees from Clarence White on our single family tree. I sent you a message a while ago as part of the England Project's annual check-in with project members. I haven't heard back from you. I hope you are well.
If you could send me a quick message to confirm whether you are still interested in the project and wish to remain an active member, that would be great. We ask all project members to reply to our annual check-in as a requirement of membership.
Thank you again for your contributions towards the England Project's goals!

We're contacting you for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve Australian profiles on WikiTree.
Please could you reply to this message, or send me a private message to let us know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if you'd like to make any changes to the teams that you belong to. The teams are listed on Australia Project Teams.
If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you from the membership list.
Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. If you are already on the WikiTree Discord server, let us know, and we can send you an invite link to the dedicated Australia Project server (WikiAustralia) where all our chat channels are located. It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.
We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
The Australia Project Leadership Team ~ Gillian, Margaret and Veronica
On behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!
The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members periodically to make sure everything is going well. This is our formal annual check-in with you.
Are you happy to with your current project team choices? Would you like to join any other teams?
Also, we would really like to hear which team is currently your highest priority. If you are a member of more than one team, could you please rank them from highest priority to lowest? Thank you! If you don’t see yourself as being part of a team, please let us know.
We also welcome any feedback on things you would like to see the project do more of in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message.
On behalf of all the Leaders, thank you again for all you do and we look forward to you continuing to be a part of our collaborative and fun Project!
Kind regards,
Ian, England Project Leader
I'm happy with my current project teams, Devon and OT. I'm also on considering moving into the Managed Profiles Team. I've been struggling with some technical issues lately (haven't been able to get my laptop to work) so I haven't been on WikiTree in a while, and as such have been unable to prioritise any teams.
No feedback at this time. The project is doing fabulously!
Thanks,
Oscar
Ian
We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.
Just completed the form :) I haven't been very active with my study for a while but I'm definitely still interested in staying with the Project. I plan to bet back into it very soon. Thanks for all that you do for the project and thanks for checking in!

On behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!
I'd also like to share our annual Newsletter with you. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading a bit about what has gone on in 2022 and what our Project has achieved.
The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members every 6 months just to make sure everything is going well. There's no need to reply to this message unless you have something you'd like to let us know about (e.g. if you would like to change your team choices or provide other feedback). We will be in touch with you again in the middle of next year when we do our annual check-in with project members.
On behalf of all the Leaders, I wish you a peaceful and productive 2023.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth, England Project Leader
It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!
If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.
We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to us!
Kind Regards Margaret Haining Membership Coordinator

As the England Project Leaders, we are completing our six monthly check-in with all project members. Are you happy to stay in your current project teams? Which teams are you most active in? Are there other teams you would like to join or become more active in?
Also, do you have any feedback on what the project is doing well and anything we could do better in the future? Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks!

Apologies for the delay in replying.
I've been working on the Orphan Trail for the past while, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. As I've got exams coming up, I've had to take a short break from WikiTree and OT activity, but I plan to jump back in once that's all over.
No feedback. I've had a really great experience so far :)

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?
Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back to me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.
