Earl W. Evans, 76, of Mifflintown RR1 [Denholm], died at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 1994 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1918 in Tully, Onondago County, New York, to the late William and Ruth [Morgan] Evans.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam N. [Whitesel] Evans, whom he married May 3, 1944. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wayne [Connie L.] Marquart, Lewisberry; one brother, John Evans, Tully, NY; and two sisters, Sarah Kenyon, Preble, NY, and Florence Jewett, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Earlene K. Clouser; one brother, Edward Evans; and two sisters, Evelyn Miller and Ruth Moore.

In earlier life he was employed by the former Haws Refractories, Hawstone, and retired in 1981 as a bartender for Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863, Mifflintown. He was a Methodist by faith and a life member of Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863 and American Legion Post No. 298, both of Mifflintown. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran.

Funeral services were held Friday from Brown Funeral Home, Mifflintown, with Rev, George S. Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown RR4. where full military burial honors were provided by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
