William Evans was born about 1834 in Llangranog, Cardiganshire, Wales.
A possible baptism record for William Evans on 30 November 1833 has been found with parents Evan Evans (a Farmer) and Mary Evans, living at Cefncwrt, Llangrannog. [1]
On 12 March 1845 when William was 11 years old, he was put on trial in Cardiganshire, Wales for Larceny but thankfully he was acquitted. [2]
William Evans may have married Margaret Jones in 1859 with the marriage registered in Aberayron, Cardiganshire, Wales. [3] This assumption is based on their first child being born in first quarter 1861.
In the 1861 Census, William and Margaret (Jones) Evans were living on Tredwr Farm in Llangranog, Cardiganshire, Wales with their baby Mary Anne (age 2 months). [4] William was described as a Farmer of 96 acres, employing two boys and a shepherd. The family employed five servants, aged between 10 and 26. The servants were:
Bridget Thomas aged 26, employed as a Dairymaid;
Catherine Davies aged 16, employed as a General Servant;
David Davies aged 22, employed as a Carter;
James Davies aged 16, employed as a Carter; and
Thomas Griffith aged 10, employed as a Shepherd.
In the 1871 Census, William (a Farmer) and Margaret (Jones) Evans were living in Llangranog, Cardiganshire, Wales [5] with their children:

In the 1881 Census, William (described as a Farmer of 120 acres) and Margaret Evans were living in Llangoedmore, Cardiganshire, Wales. [6] Also in the household were their children:
In the 1891 Census, William (aged 57 and employed as an Agent for the Prudential Assurance Company) and his wife Margaret were living in Grange Town, St Mary, Cardiganshire, Wales [7] with their children:
In the 1901 Census, William (aged 67 and employed as a Prudential Assurance Agent) and his wife Margaret were living on Bingham Terrace, Cardigan St Mary, Cardiganshire, Wales [8] with their daughters Margaret E Evans aged 31 and Agnes Evans aged 22.
William passed away aged 73 on 7 August 1906 on Bingham Terrace, Cardiganshire, Wales. [9] William was accidentally struck down by a bicycle causing a fracture of the skull and other injuries. He survived for two days after the accident.
