Biography

The son of Benjamin Evarts and hsi second wife, Abigail (Bradley) Evarts, and twin to Annie Evarts, Edmund Evarts was born in Guilford, Connecticut in 1771.[1][2]

He is thought to have married twice, first marrying Annie and having a child, Mary Evarts, born in Suffied, Connecticut in 1794.[3] His first wife perhaps dying in childbirth, Edmund remarried in 1796, marrying Annis (Booth) Evarts, marrying in Suffield, Connecticut on October 9, 1796.[4] It's like that his first child also died during or shortly birth, as Edmund and his second wife had three known children together, including a daughter named "Mary."

  1. Mary Evarts (1799-1875)
  2. Nancy Evarts (1801-1825)
  3. Joseph Evarts (1804-1874)

Edmund and his family made their home in Longmeadow, Connecticut,[5][6] where[7] he died of "paralysis," passing away at the age of 77. He is buried at Longmeadow Cemetery.[8]
