Biography

Dieuke Everts from Lekkum married Johannes Jelles from Leeuwarden on Oct 23 1785. This would most likely have been our Dieuke. Children: Jelle (Nov 30 1786), Evert (March 7 1790), Evert (May 17 1796, married Maria Arjens Gylstra), Ulbe (May 19 1802, a merchant's apprentice, married Margaretha Katharina Renkel & Christiana Zenner), Jelle (June 26 1807, married Margaretha van Munster).

Johannes took on the last name Tasma. When they were married, he was living under the "klokslag" (chimes of the city - many cities had chimes that played on the hour). Dieuke took on the last name Lens / Lends. Dieuwke Everts made profession of faith on June 8 1798.
