Biography
Oswald William Every was born on 26 June 1835. He was the son of Henry Every and Hon. Caroline Flower. He married, firstly, Cecilia Charlotte Burney, daughter of Henry Charles Burney, on 3 June 1862. He married, secondly, Florence Amy Sherwin, daughter of William Sherwin, on 22 September 1885. He died on 26 January 1892 at age 56. He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. He fought in the Crimean War. He gained the rank of Captain in the 75th Foot. He was the Governor between 1880 and 1892 at Dartmoor Prison, Princetown, Devon, England
