Mary Ewald married John Bachman on 1817-12-23, I believe the following children in the parish transcriptions are theirs however there are numerous John and Maria Bachmans so this may not be correct;[2]

- Mary Eliz - 1827-11-12
- William - 1829-04-22
William Bachman (43) is on the 1871 census with wife Anna (38) and their children; Emma (12), Isabella (11), John (10), William (7), James (5), George (4), and Caleb (2). Also present are his parents John (84) and Mary Bachman (76). Next door is brother Samuel Bachman (49) and family.[3]
