Died, at the residence of her son, Samuel Hall, near Farmer's City, Ill., September 13, 1880, Mrs. Frances Hall, in the 83rd year of her age. Mrs. Hall was a sister of Mr. Ewbank, whose death is mentioned in these items. She resided in this vicinity some 60 years, and was well and very favorably known; was a consistent member of the M. P. Church nearly all her life; raised her children in religious belief; was a kind and good neighbor, and left a good record in every way, and she is now passed away. Martin Ewbank, now in his 75th year, is the last of the old Ewbank family that is now living.

Died, at his home near this place, September 14, 1880, the venerable John Ewbank, in the 80th year of his age. Mr. Ewbank was a native of England, removed with his parents, brothers and sisters to this country in 1811, and settled on the farm on which he died, being among the very first settlers of this vicinity. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Protestant church for many years past, was well known by everyone, lived a blameless life, and was universally respected. He left a large circle of relations in the surrounding vicinity and one son and three daughters. It is true Mr. Ewbank lived to a more than an average age; he will be much missed and many times remembered for the many social qualities of his past life. Peace to his ashes.
