Maria Louise Ewing was born on March 27, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, United States, daughter of Norman Isaac Ewing (1894–1968) and Hermina Maria Veraar (1915–2004). Maria Ewing was an American opera singer and actress.

Maria died on January 9, 2022 in Detroit, Wayne, aged 71.
