Emily Ewing was born in 1869 at Coolsythe, Drummaul, County Antrim, Ireland. She was the daughter of William Ewing and Sarah Hill[1].
In the 1901 Ireland census Emily Ewing was age 26, a dress maker, living at Southport, Clifton, Belfast with her brother John Ewing (28), a carpenter and sister Mary Ewing (40), a dress maker[2].
In the 1911 Ireland census Emily Ewing was age 37, a dress maker, living at Manor Drive, Clifton, Belfast with her widowed father William John Ewing (76), a retired farmer, and her sisters Annie Ewing (41), a dress maker, Mary Ewing (54), a dress maker and Aggie Ewing (35), housekeeper. [3].
Emily Ewing married William Stewart, a widowed bread server, of Belfast, County Antrim on 31 July 1918, at Townsend Street Presbyterian Church, Shankhill, Belfast[4]. The witnesses were Norman James Ewing, her nephew, and Sarah Ewing, her neice.
Emily Stewart died in 1945 age 76 at Ballygomartin Road, Belfast. Her estate was administered by her step son Alex Stewart[5].
