Biography

William Ewing was born in 1842 in Port of Monteith, Perthshire, Scotland.^[1] He married Catherine Graham in 1883 in Gloucester, Carleton County, Ontario.^[1] They had seven children: William Ewing, Thomas Graham Ewing, Mary Lennox Ewing, Catherine Kinross Ewing, Isabel Davison Ewing, Archibald Cairns Ewing, and Margaret McLaurin Ewing.^[1][2] He passed away in 1901.^[3]

Catharine is a descendant of Agnes Findlayson and James Graham.^[1]

William (55) and Catherine K. (42) are enumerated in the 1901 Census of Canada. They are living in St. Lawrence Ward, Montreal, Quebec with William's father, William (82, b.3 Jun 1818), their children and a servant, Elizabeth M. (19) from England. William was born 18 Sep 1845 in Scotland, immigrated in 1865, is Scotch and a seed merchant. Catherine was born 11 Jul 1858 in Scotland, immigrated in 1867. The children, all born in Quebec, are: William (b. 4 May 1884, 16), Thomas G. (b. 2 May 1886, 14), Marey L. (b. 17 Sep 1887, 13), Catherine K. (b. 25 Nov 1889), Isabel D.
