Biography

Birth Mary was born about 1730 - see Research Notes.

Marriage Mary married William Jackson on 10 April 1761 in Bolsover Derbyshire [1] [2]. Banns were published on 22nd and 29th March and 9th April 1760 [3].
Mary and William had six children [4]:

According to the baptism record Mary and family were living in Stretton between 1761 and 1765 and in Smithy Moor from 1768 onwards.

No clear death or burial has been found.

Research Notes

  • The Marriage Banns Register states both are of this parish (i.e. Bolsover). It might be presumed that Mary was born there whereas William was only working there . However, no birth or baptism data has been found for Mary so far.
  • There are no burial records for either William or Mary in North Wingfield. They may have moved to another area.
  • There is a Hint on Ancestry [11] suggesting that Mary was born in 1730 and died in 1794 in Stockton, Durham Co.. As no burial record has been found for William this remains speculation as there is no apparent reason why they should have moved from Derbyshire to County Durham.
