Biography

"The first mention made of the family in Wiltshire is a grant from Galicia, the wife of Humphrey le Heyr of Bromham, ... to Nicholas her son.

...

In an undated deed, probably made in the reign of Henry III, Galfridus, the son of Humphrey, granted to his brother Nicholas certain possessions on conditions of homage and service."[1]

Notes

  • Some family researchers assert that his mother "Galacia," settled land in Hope, co. Derby on this Nicholas which, in part, resulted in an entire theory linking this Nicholas to the family in co. Derby.[2]

Le Heyr-4 and LeEyre-6 appear to represent the same person because: same person. Please determine correct last name at birth and merge. Some of his descendants also have duplicate profiles and need merging, which I will propose. Thank you.
