Biography

Edwin Eyres 18 May 1828 Melksham, married Mary Barton in 1852 at Chippenham. In 1861 Edwin was a corn dealer living at Laycock ith Mary 30 and a servant. In 1871 Edwin was a miller and landowner living at Ray Mill House with Mary 40, Jane Eliza a visitor Sarah Tanner 26 and a servant. In 1881 Edwin 53 was a miller employing nine men at Ray Mills, Laycock, living with his wife Mary 50 from Lacock, grandsons Robert ES Tanner 6, Arthur D Tanner 4 and Thomas Taylor Tanner 3 all from Somerford, and four servants. In 1911 Edwin was 82 a widower living at Ray Mills, Laycock with grandson Robert Eyres Spring Tanner 36 a miller & corn dealer, niece Amy Barton 39 living on private means, and two servants. Edwin died 7 June 1915 at Laycock. Mary 10 March 1831, daughter of Edward Barton, died 25 Aug 1909 at Laycock.
