"Oley Valley Ancestors" at Ancestry.com has: About 1761 he moved to Abbottstown, York County, PA. He was a wagon captain during the Revolutionary War. In 1780 he left his older children in Abbottstown, his wife had died, he went to Adamstown in Lancaster County and left two younger children with relatives there. Jacob then left for Virginia to buy a farm but never returned. It was rumored later that a man was murdered on the Baltimore Road, and the family presumed it was him.
