Mark Ezard, son of George Ezard and Mary Burton, was born on May 20, 1871 in the Woodbridge area of Vaughan Township, Ontario, Canada.[1][2][3][4] His father was a Labourer at the time.[1] He had several siblings: John, Harry and Margaret.[5]
He married Hannah Euphenia Smith, daughter of John Smith and Sarah Fines, on October 28, 1895 in Brampton, Ontario.[2][3][4][6][7] They had at least two children: John Franklin Ezard and Mary Hannah Ezard.[3][7][8] When John was born in 1911, Mark was a storekeeper.[7] However, following a difficult labour, their newborn son, John, died at just a few hours old on January 25, 1911 and was buried in Nashville Cemetery in Kleinburg, Ontario.[3][4][9]
Mark retired from being a merchant/storekeeper and they moved to North Main Street in Weston, Ontario, in about 1926.[2] In November 1929, Mark and Hannah held a reunion for the descendants of his late father, George Ezard, at their home.[5] At that time, his brothers, John and Harry, were residents of Toronto Gore and his sister, Margaret, wife of William Clark, was a resident of Nashville.[5] The reunion was attended by his siblings and their offspring as well as the families of other descendants, including: Robert Livingston and his wife, Mary Gladys (Clark) Livingston, Howard Clark and his wife, Laura I. (Wiley) Clark, Hewgill Milton, and his wife, Mary H. (Ezard) Hewgill, Annie Clark, and Frank Ezard.[5]
Mark died at the age of 59 on March 21, 1931 with the cause of death being noted as angina pectoris.[2][3][4] He was interred in Nashville Cemetery in Kleinburg, Ontario.[2][3][4] His gravestone is located in the Centre Section, Row 4, facing west, and at GPS coordinates: 43.834912, -79.662097.[3]
