Biography

Horst H. Faber was born near Sensburg, East Prussia on 7 July 1925. He was the son of Robert Faber and Marie Jeglinski. He spent his youth in Germany and married Renate Grahle there on 21 October 1947.[1] In 1954, Horst emigrated to the United States with his family, arriving in New York on October 26th. They settled in Saginaw, Michigan.[2] Horst worked at Saginaw Metal Casting until he retired in 1987.[1] He passed away on 17 April 2011 at Cartwright Hospice Center in Saginaw, and was buried in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Gera 5 days later.[1][3][4]

Research Notes

1. Horst's birthplace is given as Sensburg, East Prussia, Germany in his obituary. But his living brother says that he and the rest of the siblings were born in the village named here, which is very near Sensburg. This same living brother provided Horst's middle name of "Herbert." (RR, 6/22/2020)
