MR. J. H. FAGAN.
Mr. John Henry Fagan, who died at Cowra at the age of 67 years, was one of the leading graziers of that district. He was born at The Rocks, near Bathurst, being the son of Mr. John Fagan, a well-known land-owner, whose properties Included Sunny Ridge, Mulyan, and Breakfast Creek. On the death of his father, Mr. Fagan and his brother, Mr. R. J. Fagan, shared the properties, but subsequently the latter took over Sunny Ridge, and Mr. J. H. Fagan became owner of the other two stations.
Mr. Fagan was educated at Riverview Col- lege, and later qualified as an architect, but did not practise his profession. During his school career he gained success as an athlete. He also played with the old Randwick Rugby Union Club. He was president of the Cowra Jockey Club for many years, and some of his racehorses, which Included Rebate, Accepted, Selected, and Nardale, raced In Sydney. With his brother, he owned Braille, which won a Summer Cup. Mr. Fagan was also well known as a cattle breeder. He devoted much time to public affairs in the Cowra district, and for a period was a member of the local council.
Mr. Fagan is survived by two sons. The remains were interred in the Church of England Cemetery at Cowra, Canon Kemmis performing the last rites.
