Josephine Augustus "Gussie" Fagan was born on 10 Mar 1862 in Ebensburg, Cambria, Pennsylvania. She was the sixth child of nine born to Jeremiah Fagan and Mary Mills. [1]
Josephine, or Gussie, as she was called, grew up in Ebensburg. Her father, Jeremiah Fagan, died in, or around, 1880 and at that time Gussie, age 18, worked as a servant in the home of James D. Snyder. [2] At some point after 1880, perhaps after the death of her mother, Josephine moved from Ebensburg in Cambria County to Braddock, Allegheny, PA. Both her brothers, Frank Fagan and Linius moved to Braddock.
Marriage and Family
On 24 Jan 1888 , Gussie married Thomas A. Lynch in Braddock, Pennsylvania. [3] They had two children. Thomas Michael Lynch was born on 13 Sep 1892 and died on 21 Apr 1947. [4] Harvey J. Lynch was born in Jul 1895 [5] and died as a child of 12 1/2 on Oct 2, 1907. [6]
Death
Gussie passed away on 3 Sept 1908, about one year after her son died. [7]
