Michael Fagan was born about 1795 or 1805, somewhere in County Westmeath, Ireland (possibly Castlepollard).
He married Isabella Victory sometime before 1829, when their first child (Maria) was born in Castelpollard. They had a total of eight children together:
Maria Fagan Lee, born 1829
James Fagan, born 1830
Patrick Fagan, born 1832
Eliza Fagan, born 1833
Michael Fagan, born 1836
Bridget Fagan, born 1838
Margaret Fagan Cronin, born 1841
Isabella Fagan, born 1849.
The family lived in Castlepollard, County Westmeath, until they immigrated in 1850. One son, Michael Fagan, is not listed on the ship's manifest, so he either stayed in Ireland or died before 1850.
They arrived in New York City on May 14, 1850, having traveled on the William Rathbone from Liverpool.
The family lived in Brooklyn in 1855 (Ward 14, E.D. 1)[1]. Maria and James were married and living with their respective spouses. Eliza was not with them and her fate after immigration is unknown.
By 1860, they had all moved to Middletown, Connecticut[2]. James and his wife lived next door to Michael and Isabella.
In 1870, Michael and Isabella lived with their daughter Margaret, her husband James Cronin, and Margaret and James' daughter Eliza. Their other daughter Bridget was also part of this household[3].
Michael continued to live with Margaret and James after Isabella's death in 1872[4], until his own death in 1883.
