Biography

Nancy Fagin was born in 1784 possibly in Pennsylvania. She is believed by another researcher as perhaps the daughter of Patrick Fagin who resided in the original Irish colony of New Jersey, but left New Jersey before 1790 for Pennsylvania and then to the Ohio Valley. Nancy married David Daniel Mills and resided in Warren County, Ohio at the time of the 1840 Census. She passed away in 24 September 1841 Warren County, Ohio, USA.

Nancy's entry in Descendants of Patrick Fagin:

Nancy J. Fagin (179? - ) Youngest daughter of Patrick Fagin, born Fayette Co. Pennsylvania between 1790 and 1794; was with the family as a child on the trip down the Ohio River in 1794. Her girlhood was spent in the 10 Mile Creek region, Clermont Co. Ohio.
She married, ca. 1810, David D. Mills of a pioneer Hamilton Co. family. They farmed near Montgomery and later near Sharonville, which was laid out by Philemon Mills in 1818. Nancy Fagin Mills is mentioned in Henry B. Teeter's "History of Mill Creek Valley" (1882) as being one of the originators of the Methodist Bible Class (1819) which developed into the Montgomery Methodist Church, which was founded in 1839. According to the writer, the society conducted its own services, which were so noisy "with shouting, singing and clapping of hands", that their meetings were heckled and invaded by "roughnecks" a number of times.
By 1830 David and Nancy Mills were in Sharonville, also in Sycamore Township, and there spent the rest of their lives. David Mills died in Sharonville 1859, and was survived by his wife. We have no record of her death.
Their children were:
1) David Mills Jr;
2) Susan Ann Mills;
3) Joseph Fagin Mills;
4) Hannah Mills.
