Robert Fairbairn [1]
Robert is presumed to have been born around 1775, probably in Roxburghshire.
He is also presumed to have died between 1821 and 1841, possibly at Maxton, Roxburghshire where he was living when wife Margaret died. [2]
Robert may, or may not be, the Robert Fairbairn listed in 1799 on the Militia List as servant to John Milne, farmer at Whitehill, Melrose [3]
From at least 1801 to 1803 Robert and wife Margaret were living at Broomhill, Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland when they baptized two of their children (Robert, 1801, and Isabel, 1803)
By 1811 Robert was a hynd living at Peasehill, Par. of Melrose, Roxburghshire when daughter Agnes baptized (having been born in 1810).
1813-1814 baptisms to Robert and Margaret showed the family had moved to St Boswells (Francis and Margaret).
By 1817, baptism of son John showed them living at Maxton, which is where Robert's wife Margaret died in 1821.
