Lena was born in Cambridge, Mass., 1874, the daughter of John and Catherine (Eagan) Fairbairn.
She married Harold B. Young in 1897 in a double wedding with her twin sister Carrie, who married Charles Glass. "Each couple acted In the capacity of maid of honor and best man, respectively, for the other...Each bride was gowned in white swiss muslin, trimmed with white satin and lace, and each carried bride roses." By 1910 Harold and Lena's family had grown to include 6 children.
Harold passed away in 1934, and Lena remained a widow for the rest of her life. She died in 1961 and is buried at the Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose, Mass.
