Biography

James was born in 1791. He is the son of Nahum Fairbank and Lucinda Houghton.

Private James Fairbank is listed as a soldier in Capt. Elisha Camp's 6th Artillery Company of BGen. Jacob Brown's New York State Militia. He and this unit were engaged in the successful First Battle of Sackets Harbor, 19 Jul 1812 during the War of 1812. His signature can be seen with other unit members on this site [1].
