DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
There appears to be some work to do on this family, this John is suppose to be the son of the other John that you posted but I also found a duplicate of John Barney's wife.
Yes, I agree. And I see that you also proposed a merge of this John Fairchild with the duplicate (Fairchild-764) who is the spouse of the other Margaret Payne. Did you find a source that confirms a death date of 1840?
No I didn't,1840 was what was on Family Search, his daughter Elizabeth was born in 1837,so I used 1840 as a DOD. I didn't try looking for any other sources yet.
I have found that the Jean Fairchild Gilmore source (listed above) is quite reliable. She doesn't have a death date but she does have more information about his parents--information that agrees with what is on the Fairchild-764.
I believe the death date of this John Fairchild has been confused with Fairchild-727.
