Linus Presume Fairchild was born on 14 Dec. 1811.[1]
He married Matilda Jackson, daughter of George Hiram and Nancy Jane (Malcolm) Jackson on 21 April 1839 in Rome, Henry County, Iowa. Matilda died about 6 Nov. 1850.[1]
He was a farmer when he and Jane appeared on the census of 7 Aug. 1860 at Tippecanoe Township, Henry County, Iowa.[2]
Linus died on 21 Sep. 1880 in Iowa and was buried at Grant Cemetery, Rome, Henry County, Iowa. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
