Biography

John Fairchild was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

John Grant Fairchild was born on 6 December 1891 in Asa, Johnson County, Kentucky, United States, son of David May Fairchild and Elizabeth Alice Pelphrey.

In the 1900 census John (age 9) was the son of David M Fairchild in Magisterial District 3, Johnson County, Kentucky.[1]

In the 1910 census John (age 18) was the single brother of Newton C Fairchild in District 3, Johnson, Kentucky, United States.[2]

Johnie (age 24) married Mary Blair (age 14) on 21 April 1916 in Johnson County, Kentucky.[3][4]

John registered for the World War I military draft in Johnson County, Kentucky.[5]

In the 1920 census John (age 29) was the married head of household in Jenny's Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky.[6]

In the 1930 census John (age 39) was the married head of household in District 3, Johnson County, Kentucky.[7]

In the 1940 census Johney (age 48) was the married head of household in Magisterial District 3, Johnson County, Kentucky.[8]

John registered for the World War II military draft on 27 April 1942 in Denver, Johnson, Kentucky.[9]

John died (age 83) on 4 November 1974 in Findlay, Hancock, Ohio[10][11] and was buried in Zion Bloom Cemetery, Vanlue, Hancock County, Ohio.[12]
