James Edwin Fairweather was born about October 4, 1832 in Norton, Kings, New Brunswick, son of James E. Fairweather (1797–1876) and Martha Humbert (~1800–1889).[1]

James had a brother, Charles Henry Fairweather (1826–1894).

James (41) married Deborah Juliette Melick (28) (born on June 26, 1845 in New Brunswick; daughter of James Godfrey Melick and Caroline Maria Fairweather) on November 27, 1873 in Hampton, Kings.

James died on October 15, 1907 in Norton, Canada, aged about 75. He was buried in Church of the Ascension Anglican Cemetery, Lower Norton, Kings County, New Brunswick.[1]
