Biography
William Faulkner was born about 1796, the 10th of 11 children born to William Forkner and Susannah Wells. He was a minor when his father died in 1807.
William married Caroline Word on 1 June 1816 in Surry, North Carolina, United States.[1][2] He gave notice of intent to marry previously on June 1, 1815 in Surry.[3]
Research Notes
Note: His death is reported as 1842 but this would mean than the 11th child currently listed on this profile would have a different father. However, since William and Caroline were the great great grandparents of the writer William Cuthbert Faulkner of Oxford, Mississippi, an interested descendant would likely be successful in finding accurate and interesting records of the move to Tennessee and then to northern Mississippi prior to the Civil War.
