Biography

Freda was born in 1899. She is the daughter of Frederick Fallon and Charlotte Crawford. [1]

MRS. C. WIDDlS, JNR. The death occurred suddenly in a Casino private hospital, on Tuesday night, of Mrs. Freda May Widdis, aged 35 years, wife of Mr. Charles Arthur Widdis, Jnr., of Main Camp Station. A daughter of Cr. F. J. Fallon, and the late Mrs. Fal- lon, the deceased was a native of Tatham, and had resided there; and at Cor- aki and Ellangowan till her marriage a few years ago, since when she had-lived at Main Camp. As a girl, Mrs. Widdis went to school at Coraki, and as she grew up she made many friendships because of her gracious, kindly, disposition, and pleasant personality. On the death of her mother, she took charge of domestic affairs in the home till her marriage. The district mourns the loss of one of its most respected personalities, and wide sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband, and also for the Fallon family who have suffered several heavy bereavements in recent years. Mrs. Widdis is survived by a daughter aged two years, and by an infant son. Sisters of deceased are Mrs. A. .Stanford, Misses A. and N. Fallon, and brothers are Messrs. John, Joseph, Cyril and Prank Fallon, all of Ellangowan. The funeral took place in Casino on Wednesday, the remains being laid to rest in the Anglican portion of the cemetery in the presence of a large gathering of friends and sympathisers from all parts of the district. The floral tributes were a magnificent collection and came from numerous friends and public bodies. Rev Woodger; assisted by Rev. Omorod, officiated at the graveside, while the arrangements were in the hands of Mr. Trevor Bovan. Cr. Allison, Messrs. J. L. Norman (Shire Clerk) and: G. L. B. Harrison (Engineer), represented Woodburn Shire Council at the funeral.[2]
