Biography

Joseph was born on the 18th November 1861 in Islington, Middlesex the son of John Faraday and Margaret (Suart) Faraday.^[1][2][3]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Joseph was living at 10 Wentworth Road, Tower Hamlets, Middlesex with his widowed father John and his siblings John, Elizabeth, Mary and Robert.^[4]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Joseph a clerk, was living 22 Kenilworth Road, Bethnal Green, Middlesex with his father John and his siblings Elizabeth and Alice.^[5]

Joseph emigrated to California, United States in 1890 and in 1894 he married Sophie Eva in California, United States, as shown in the 1900 US Census.

1900 US Census on the 13th June 1900 Joseph a bank teller, was living in Sausalito Township (excl. Sausalito town) Belvedere town, Marin, California, United States with his wife Sophie E. A. Faraday. His place of birth was England, and he imigrated in 1890. Sophie was 32, born in California, her parents were born in Ireland. There were two children, Marjorie (3) and John (1) both born in California.^[6]

1939 National Register on the 29th September 1939 Joseph was living in Salfords Cross Oak Lane, Dorking, Surrey. Also living there was Chloe Faraday aged 27.^[3]

Joseph died aged 84 in 1946 in Surrey, England.^[7]
