Pvt Andrew Thomas Farley (Thomas) was captured at the Battle of Winchester on Sept 19 1864. Thomas was transferred to Point Lookout POW camp, Scotland, Maryland, USA. Once there, he, like the majority of other prisoners, did not stand a chance at survival due to overcrowding, contaminated water, minimal food and shelter to name a few. It was a brutal environment where it was survival of the fittest and where the guards also took part in cruel games that often resulted in the death of prisoners.
I did find one reference to a spouse, as yet unverified, Ellen W. Abbott. Unknown if he had any children.
