John (Farley) Farleigh was born in Devon, England.

Born John Farley on December 12, 1831 in Kingsbridge, Devon, England and baptised on December 25th there by Hugh Watts at Ebenezer Independent Chapel. He was the son of John Farley and Mary Manicom.[1][2]

John Brown Farleigh married Margaret Alexander on November 29, 1870 in Victoria, Australia.

He died on July 17, 1885 in Sydney New South Wales Australia and was buried in Rookwood Cemetery in Rookwood, New South Wales.[3]
