John B. Farley, Jr. was born 06 April 1670 in Charles City, Virginia. About 1700 in Chesterfield, Henrico, Virginia he married Elizabeth Atkins daughter of James and Sarah Atkins.

He was a planter and had a plantation with slaves in the colonial society. He raised tobacco and had 551 acres given to him by his father.

John died 16 April 1754 in Dale Parish, Chesterfield, Virginia (will dated 6 April 1754) and Elizabeth died after 1754 in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Abstract by Robert E Burke: 3 Aug 1696, John Farley Jr of Charles City Co and Westopher [sic] Parish to John Hardiman of same county and parish, 75 acres purchased of Hercules Flood by John Farley Sr, who purchased 150 acres and made over to John Womack one half and son John Farley the other half, "divided with the apurtance of Herk Flood Will:m Jones & Henry Jones", Elizabeth Farley wife of John consents and releases dower. Witnesses Mary Kennon and Elizabeth Kennon. Signed John Farley I F his mark, 5 Oct 1696. On back side of deed, John Hardiman assigned the land to Samuel Brooke. Acknowledged by John Hardiman in open court 4 Nov 1698. Samuel Brooks and wife Mary made this deed over to Henry Read, 3 Jan 1699, Witnesses: Jonas Liskam, David Owen. Acknowledged by Saml Brooks in Westover open court, 3 Jan 1699.

‘’’Will of John Farley, Jr: ‘’’ In the name of God Amen. I John Farley of Dale Parish in the County of Chesterfield being in perfect health sound sence and good memory thanks be given to God do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following: Imprimis I give the use of my plantation and everything upon the said plantation as Negros, stock, etc to my beloved wife Elizabeth Farley during her natural life but my will and desire is that my said wife shall have the choice of all my beds and furniture with two trunks and one iron Pott to dispose of to whom she thinks proper after my Decease and after my Wife Decease I desire my plantation containing Three hundred acres more or less to my son John Farley and his wife Mary, during their natural lives and after my son John and his Wife's Death I give and devise the said plantation to my son, Peter Farley and his Heirs forever.
Also I give the use of My Negro Dickboy to my Daughter Mary Womack during her life and after her Death I give and bequeath the said Negro Dickboy to my son Francis Farley and his Heirs forever.
