Biography

Eddie Farmer was born in Kentucky in 1876. His parents were James Madison Farmer and Margaret Jane Farmer. He married Sallie Colvin in 1898. After Sallie died in 1913, Eddie married Lillie Pearl Mardis in 1915. She passed away in 1945. Eddie made his living as a farmer. Mr. Farmer died in 1952. He is buried in Muldraugh Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Ed Farmer, 76 years of age, were held Saturday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. John Walls and the Rev. W.R. Beard in charge of the services. Burial was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Elmer Kilgore, Charles Wise, Elmer Smith, Junior Richerson, Joe Shane and Ira Curtsinger.

Mr. Farmer, son of the late James & Jane Farmer, was born March 31, 1876 in Marion Co., KY. He died Wednesday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. at his home near Finley. [See Note 1] He professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Allie Colvin some 55 years ago, she preceded him in death 39 years ago and to this union 1 son and 4 daughters were born.

Surviving are: Mrs. Lucy Kilgore of Rushville, IN, Mrs. Charlie Wise of Marion Co., Mrs. Joe Shane of Louisville, and John Farmer of Louisville. On March 31, 1915 he united in marriage to Miss Pearl Mardis, she preceded him in death on October 31, 1945. To this union 2 sons and 5 daughters were born. Surviving are: Mrs. Goldie Flynn of Salsburg, Austria, Mrs. Ethel Smith of Taylor Co., Mrs. Myrtle Curtsinger of Nelson Co., Harold Farmer of Louisville, and Mrs. Thelma Richerson of Charlestown, IN. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
