Biography

John was born in 1599. John passed away in 1658.

Notation by Kenneth Hewitt John Farmer was a member of the Farmer family of Ratcliffe Culey, Leicestershire, and is named in the Heralds' Visitation of Leicestershire 1619 which can be viewed on the Internet. It gives his age as 30 (possibly the 30th years of his age) and shows that he was married to "Maria filia Fran. Purifoy de Cacott in Com' War'". The Visitation shows three children - Letticia (Lettice) aged 4, Francis aged 3 and Ralph aged 2. Lettice married - as his second wife - the Rev Robert Ladbroke who was Rector of Solihull from 1646 to his death in 1655. Robert Ladbroke had a son Edward by his first wife, Bridget Smalbroke, and three sons William, Robert and John by his second wife. They were baptised at Solihull. In his will, Robert Ladbroke names his "honoured uncle Col. William Purefoy". posted May 13, 2014 by Kenneth Hewitt

Farmer-5288 and Farmer-169 appear to represent the same person because: Potential duplicate - both married to same spouse. Both profiles are unsourced or corroboration

Hi David,

Thanks for asking this and your other question. I'll get some sources to back it up or disprove is. I'm tracking down DNA to support that conclusion. Tim Martin

With ho baptism for their alleged daughter, and no marriage for them, how was it established that Mary is their daughter, and that Mary senior was Purefoy?

Farmer-615 and Farmer-169 appear to represent the same person because: same birth date & place

Farmer-714 and Farmer-169 appear to represent the same person because: Although dates differ, they have the same wife. Can we merge them?
